Mobile set costs low....
The Minister for Communications and Information Technology has announced the sale of the mobile handsets at a reduced price so that it will be available for the end common man. It is interesting to note that the roaming charges of the private networks viz., Airtel,Hutch and Idea, are being reduced by considering the plights of the subscribers. This is not a new one to the state-owned BSNL, that offers free roaming to its subscribers which has sprung deep in the remote areas of the country where the private operators have not penetrated. It is indeed happy to have Third Generation(3G) mobile services offered in India at a subsidisable rates. Also, the launching of the low cost handsets of the Motorola at an astonishing starting price of Rs.1700/- has made a right ignition for a very good expectable venture adhered to by the DoT that the mobile telephony in the country be increased to 250million customers by the year 2007. Let the mobile technology rule the world, ruled upon by man.....;)
